Even though the Medina Christian Academy Knights scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Cornerstone Christian Patriots still came out on top. Cornerstone Christian strolled past Medina Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. The victory was nothing new for Cornerstone Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Quinn Kwasniak, who shot 9-for-19 from deep and dropped a double-double on 38 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cornerstone Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Owen Pugh, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Cornerstone Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Medina Christian Academy, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will face off against Horizon Science Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Horizon Science Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Medina Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Ridge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Ridge Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
