Center Place's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Plaza Heights Christian Academy 33-27. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Center Place of the 39-34 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Leading Plaza Heights Christian Academy to victory were Reece Cornine and Sydney Berry. Cornine scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks, while Berry scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and five steals. Cornine hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games.
Center Place's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Center Place will head out on the road to challenge Applewood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plaza Heights Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
