Duchesne dropped their record down to 22-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the St. Dominic Crusaders, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pioneers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.

As for St. Dominic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for St. Dominic, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For St. Dominic's part, they got a great performance from Alex Alsop as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Alsop has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cooper Montgomery was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Daniel Henke was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duchesne will face off against Clayton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Dominic, they will host Vianney at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
