Washington can attribute much of their success to Amanda Cangmah, who had six digs and two aces. The dominant performance gave Cangmah a new career-high in aces.
Independence now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Washington, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.
Independence skirted past Washington 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Independence since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
