Panther Valley's rough 63-43 defeat to the Crimson Tide might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Panther Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Crimson Tide are ranked 172nd).
Despite the loss, Panther Valley had strong showings from Logan Fisher, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds, and Chase Weaver, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Panther Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Pottsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Derek Watkins led the charge by scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kole Becker, who scored 11 points.
Panther Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Pottsville, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Panther Valley will be playing at home against the Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tamaqua focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Pottsville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blue Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
