The Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Metro RVT Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
After a string of five wins, Innovation Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to Wayland on the road by a decisive 64-46 margin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Derrick Twum, who scored 19 points. Twum is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Bryce Kankam was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Northeast Metro RVT had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Stoneham.
Innovation Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Northeast Metro RVT, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Innovation Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Northeast Metro RVT in their previous meeting back in January, winning 69-62. Will Innovation Academy repeat their success, or does Northeast Metro RVT have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
