Archbishop Mitty has gone a perfect 10-0 against St. Ignatius College Preparatory recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Archbishop Mitty 2.8, St. Ignatius College Preparatory 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Archbishop Mitty fell victim to Valley Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Monarchs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Kyleigh Mace was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Archbishop Mitty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adelle Duncan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Duncan's first of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Wednesday.
Not much got past Olivia Dollard, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory off the board.
On the hitting side, Gianna Galarza was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Archbishop Mitty's defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-6-1. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Archbishop Mitty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Ignatius College Preparatory struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Archbishop Mitty was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Ignatius College Preparatory in their previous meeting back in April, winning 4-0. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
