The Mantachie Mustangs will head out to take on the Thrasher Rebels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Mantachie turned things around against Biggersville on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Lions.

03/01/25 @ Calhoun City | 8 |

04/06/24 vs Baldwyn | 5 |

Hayden Estes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Hudson Trulove was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. He also got three hits, which is notable because Mantachie is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 1-9 otherwise. Caleb Jones also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Mantachie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biggersville only posted an OBP of .370.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Thrasher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over Potts Camp on Friday. Considering the Rebels have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan Tate made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Hayden Hopkins was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hunter Pace, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
The win got Thrasher back to even at 4-4. As for Mantachie, their record is now 4-9.
