Softball Recap: Clover Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against York, Clover was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northwestern Trojans a 14-0 shutout. The Blue Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Clover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Northwestern, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clover will head out to square off against Indian Land at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwestern, they will square off against Rock Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans are facing the Bearcats at the right time seeing as the Bearcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
