Baseball Recap: Seffner Christian Takes a Loss

Seffner Christian was the 5-0 winner over Keswick Christian when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Seffner Christian fell just short of Keswick Christian by a score of 14-13 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Seffner Christian has lost by just one run.

Seffner Christian got a good showing from Tyler Tate, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Kris Colondres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Seffner Christian is 4-1 when Colondres posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Uriah Bullock, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Even though they lost, Seffner Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Seffner Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Keswick Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seffner Christian will host Butler at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Keswick Christian, they will be playing at home against Oasis Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keswick Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Oasis Christian has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
