The Junction City Dragons will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Parkers Chapel Trojans at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Junction City's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Trojans have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Junction City beat the Bears 57-51.
Junction City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylon Owens, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Owens hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Pechone Larry was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Parkers Chapel made easy work of the Wildcats on Tuesday and carried off a 49-28 win.
Junction City is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Parkers Chapel, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Everything came up roses for Junction City against the Trojans when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 76-47 victory. Will Junction City repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
