Ryan Adelsperger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Adelsperger was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Old Fort got a big performance out of Andrew tackett, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. The Stockaders are undefeated when TackeTT posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Elijah Garza also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Old Fort always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Cory-Rawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Perry, falling 12-1.
Cory-Rawson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Moon, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Old Fort moved to 5-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Cory-Rawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Old Fort has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cory-Rawson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
