Having just played yesterday, the McCool Junction Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Dorchester Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McCool Junction posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Monday. They really took it to Meridian for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-29 victory on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McCool Junction.
McKenna Yates was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven assists and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sara Weisheit, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Dorchester humbled Hampton with a 67-28 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-20.
McCool Junction's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Dorchester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Everything went McCool Junction's way against Dorchester in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as McCool Junction made off with a 59-33 win. With McCool Junction ahead 33-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
