Aldine and Eisenhower are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Aldine Mustangs will take on the Eisenhower Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aldine has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-30, which was the final score in Aldine's tilt against Fort Bend Willowridge on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Aldine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1404th, while Fort Bend Willowridge is ranked 198th).
The losing side was boosted by Aniyah Bevly, who scored 16 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Eisenhower was beaten by Klein Oak 68-12 on Tuesday. Eisenhower was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.
Aldine bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.6 points per game. As for Eisenhower, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Aldine against Eisenhower in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 50-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aldine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
