Baseball Recap: Christ's Church Academy Takes a Loss

Christ's Church Academy and St. Joseph Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Christ's Church Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Flashes by a score of 7-6. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Brady Watson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Christ's Church Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 9-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Erickson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Christ's Church Academy now has a losing record of 14-15. As for St. Joseph Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7-1 record this season.

Christ's Church Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against University Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Flashes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Christians have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
