The South Oak Cliff Bears waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Sunset at home to the tune of 84-20. With South Oak Cliff ahead 52-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Sunset's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden Rico, who scored eight points, and Jason Watson who scored six points.
South Oak Cliff pushed their record up to 14-10 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Sunset, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.
Coincidentally, South Oak Cliff and Sunset will both be playing Hillcrest the next time they take the court. South Oak Cliff will host Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sunset will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
