Even though the New Brockton Gamecocks have not done well against the Pike County Bulldogs recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. New Brockton blew past Pike County 47-24. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-3.
New Brockton was led to victory by Gabriella Eubanks and Casey Williams. Eubanks scored nine points along with six steals, while Williams scored 13 points along with two steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniya Barkley, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
The win (which was New Brockton's third in a row) raised their record to 11-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Pike County, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Brockton will take on Straughn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Straughn is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Pike County, they will be playing at home against Opp at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
