The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Rosebud-Lott. Bruceville-Eddy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rosebud-Lott apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Bruceville-Eddy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kambrie Diaz, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Diaz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Kalli Speasmaker was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Bruceville-Eddy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 11-9. As for Rosebud-Lott, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Bruceville-Eddy will head out on the road to face off against Bosqueville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosebud-Lott will be home for the holidays to greet Chilton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
