The Fort Collins Lambkins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 90-71 win over Broomfield. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fort Collins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Broomfield is ranked 22nd).
It was another big night for Jayce King, who scored 40 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcel Herrera, who scored 13 points.
The win got Fort Collins back to even at 5-5. As for Broomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Collins will square off against Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boulder is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Broomfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fossil Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
