Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring Creek). They blew past the Truckee Wolverines 21-3 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Karli Nichols made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Spring Creek got a massive performance out of Hannah Montoya, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Montoya's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emma Windous, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.
Spring Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Spring Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Truckee, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
