Bonney Lake has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonney Lake will be strutting in after a victory while Emerald Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.
Bonney Lake has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 33 points or more this season. They blew past Eisenhower, posting a 59-24 win at home. Given Bonney Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Eisenhower is ranked 171st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jazmyn Shipp continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Izzy Meki was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Emerald Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak dating back to last season on Monday. They fell 58-48 to Woodinville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Emerald Ridge has scored all season.
Bonney Lake pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Emerald Ridge, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.
Bonney Lake beat Emerald Ridge 56-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bonney Lake since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
