Altamont has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Altamont, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Altamont beat the Wolves 43-38.
Altamont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kade Milleville out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Milleville posted two or more blocks. Kaidyn Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mulberry Grove, falling 82-44. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Clayton Wojcik and Jackson Icenogle. Icenogle had a great game and scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Meanwhile, Wojcik was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Altamont is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 10-15.
Everything went Altamont's way against the Bobcats in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the Indians made off with a 72-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Altamont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
