The Mansfield Senior Tygers were the 54-53 winner over the Lexington Minutemen when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Mansfield Senior suffered a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Lexington on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Mansfield Senior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Lexington is ranked 60th).
Despite the loss, Mansfield Senior still got an impressive performance from Kyevi Roane, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Roane scored a full 37.8% of Mansfield Senior's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dondreas Reese was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Mansfield Senior's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Lexington, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Mansfield Senior will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lexington will be home for the holidays to greet Madison Comprehensive at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
