The Clinton Christian Academy Patriots struggled with threes on Monday (the Heartland Mustangs had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Clinton Christian Academy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-26 walloping at the hands of the Mustangs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clinton Christian Academy has scored all season.
Clinton Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Clara Hyke and Brooklyn Wisniewski. Hyke scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Wisniewski scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hyke hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. Hannah Wright was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Esther Archibald, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds for Heartland. That makes it four consecutive games in which Archibald has scored at least a third of Heartland's points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Archibald, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Clinton Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Heartland, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Clinton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. Center Place will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Heartland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
