The Yorktown Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 13th straight loss. They fell 57-46 to Woodsboro. Yorktown has not had much luck with Woodsboro recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amarian Zambezi, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Layton Jochetz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Yorktown bumped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Woodsboro, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-19.
Yorktown will take on Port Aransas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Port Aransas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Woodsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Three Rivers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Three Rivers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Woodsboro likes a good challenge.
