Ware Shoals is 1-9 against McCormick since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Ware Shoals Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the McCormick Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Ware Shoals will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while McCormick is ranked 110th).
On Tuesday, Ware Shoals was beaten by Christ Church Episcopal 99-43. Ware Shoals has struggled against Christ Church Episcopal recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Ware Shoals got a solid performance out of Jayce Medlin, who scored 23 points. Medlin is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jace Stewart, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, McCormick earned a 55-43 win over Calhoun Falls Charter on Monday.
Ware Shoals' loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for McCormick, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.
Ware Shoals took a serious blow against McCormick in their previous meeting back in January, falling 81-27. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ware Shoals was down 45-13.
