The Green Level Gators put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 57-53 victory over Calvary Christian. Given Green Level's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 27th in North Carolina, while Calvary Christian is ranked 377th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Green Level's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tye Cain, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Isaac Ericksen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Green Level's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Calvary Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-6 record last season and are now at 3-6.
Green Level won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Lake at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th. East Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Calvary Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Petersburg at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th. St. Petersburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 266 points over their last four contests.
