The Sundance Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past Newcastle with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sundance also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Newcastle's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Wyatt Cole, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, and Thatcher Troftgruben who scored 12 points. Troftgruben is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Sundance's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Newcastle, they bumped their record down to 2-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sundance will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Belle Fourche at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Belle Fourche will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 89th in South Dakota, while Sundance is ranked 12th in Wyoming). As for Newcastle, they will head out on the road to face off against Lead-Deadwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
