2A-1 Region I District 4 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Clyde was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 2A-1 Region I District 4. The Bulldogs defeated Lamesa 50-14 earlier in the week.
Dublin moved up to 924 from 1,009 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of a 14-12 win over the Lions.
Clyde's dynamic duo of Clint Lesley and Jon Seabourn proved tough for the Tornadoes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lesley threw for 446 yards and five touchdowns and Seabourn had 218 yards receiving. Mason Latham helped Clyde's passing attack out by catching six balls for 113 yards.
Tanner Locklear was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 112 yards as Jim Ned bested Lamesa. Dylan Johnston also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.
6-foot-0 quarterback Josh Moylan of Eastland is the league leader in passing yards this season with 912. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Indians' Johnston has rushed for 351 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Seabourn. The Clyde star has 24 catches for 422 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Bulldogs take on Breckenridge. Clyde's offense has recorded 125 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Buckaroos have permitted only 163 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Comanche takes on Merkel. The Indians are currently in fifth, while the Badgers are in first.
