Silver Lake Regional had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they will take on Duxbury at 7:00 PM. Silver Lake Regional come in off of four low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
We expected Silver Lake Regional to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Whitman-Hanson Regional, and they did. Silver Lake Regional suffered a grim 6-29 defeat to Whitman-Hanson Regional. Silver Lake Regional's defeat continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it four losses in a row.
Meanwhile, Duxbury entered their contest last Saturday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to expectations. Everything came up roses for them against Quincy as the squad secured a 35-0 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Duxbury's victory lifted them to 7-0 while Silver Lake Regional's loss dropped them down to 1-5. In Duxbury's victory, senior John Roberts passed for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns and junior Tim Landolfi rushed for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see if Silver Lake Regional have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
