Cornerstone Charter Academy is 7-1 against Trinity Prep since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ducks will welcome the Saints at 7:00 p.m. Cornerstone Charter Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
Cornerstone Charter Academy gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Winter Springs by a score of 5-2.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Hancock, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, while Trinity Prep put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lake Highland Prep. The Saints blew past the Highlanders 15-0. Considering the Saints have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Trinity Prep got a massive performance out of Olivia Agnew, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Naomi Tanielian was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both Cornerstone Charter Academy and Trinity Prep just can't seem to miss. The Ducks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Trinity Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cornerstone Charter Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Trinity Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Ducks repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
