3A Conference 10 recap September 17, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week, Western Alamance beat Morehead 27-7,. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Eastern Alamance was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Eagles beat McMichael 75-7 earlier in the week.
Northern Guilford's dynamic duo of Austin Coltrane and Mook Reynolds proved tough for Williams to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Coltrane threw for 148 yards and 4 touchdowns and Reynolds had 81 yards receiving. Cam Harris helped Northern Guilford's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 86 yards.
The Nighthawks' dynamic duo of Coltrane and Reynolds proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Reynolds was the best wideout in the league this week as Northern Guilford defeated Williams.
Coltrane put up the best numbers in passing as Robert Brian Thomas' team defeated David Green's team.
John Lamont was the best running back in 3A Conference 10 this week. He ran for 141 yards on 9 carries as Eastern Alamance bested the Bulldogs. Malcom Summers also contributed to the rushing game with 103 yards on the ground.
Rockingham County's 5-foot-9 quarterback Daniel Cardwell is the league leader in passing yards this season with 399. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malik Wilson. The Eastern Alamance star has 10 catches for 309 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Williams takes on Western Alamance. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in fifth, while Jeff Snuffer's team is in first.
The Phoenix fell to the Eagles 75-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
