The Unionville Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Coatesville Red Raiders at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Unionville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Unionville was able to grind out a solid victory over Great Valley, taking the game 9-5. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Lily DeLong, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Levendis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Coatesville never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Oxford as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
Gracelynn Landis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Camryn Poppoff was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Olivia Wilkins was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Coatesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Coatesville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Unionville, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 7-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Unionville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Coatesville struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Unionville skirted past Coatesville 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
