The Kermit Yellow Jackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 36-30 win over Crane. For Kermit, this counts as revenge for the 40-30 loss Crane walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Kermit found their leader in underclassman MICHAELA CAZARIN, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that CAZARIN pulled down eight or more rebounds. Aleixa Lara was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Kermit pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Crane, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.
Kermit will head out on the road to face off against Stanton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane will be home for the holidays to greet Alpine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1235th, while Crane is ranked 588th).
