Rowan County has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lewis County Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rowan County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three matches.
Even though Floyd Central scored an imposing 61 points last Saturday, Rowan County still came out on top. Rowan County walked away with a 71-61 victory over Floyd Central.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rowan County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dashawn Watson, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watson has scored all season. Brayden Mirus was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lewis County fought the good fight in their overtime game against Russell last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Lewis County has suffered yet this season.
Rowan County's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lewis County, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Rowan County was able to grind out a solid win over Lewis County in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 48-36. Will Rowan County repeat their success, or does Lewis County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
