Basketball Recap: Calallen Skates Past George West with Ease

Calallen's tournament run continued when they took on George West on Thursday. The Calallen Wildcats blew past the George West Longhorns 86-56.

Leading Calallen to victory were Sam Cecava and Tanner Martinez. Cecava dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Martinez went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Cecava has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Sanchez, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Calallen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for George West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Annapolis Christian Academy the next time they take the court. George West will head out to face Annapolis Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Calallen will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
