The Mendon Unity Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Prairie. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
West Prairie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Coplan out in front who scored 19 points. Coplan hasn't dropped below 15 points for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Eli DeCounter, who scored 15 points.
Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for West Prairie, their win ended a 24-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-23.
Mendon Unity will challenge Barry Western at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendon Unity knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Barry Western likes a good challenge. As for West Prairie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartsburg-Emden at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Prairie is coming into the matchup with 15 straight wins at home, so Hartsburg-Emden is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
