Basketball Recap: Morgan Rogers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Farmington over Woods Cross

Farmington lost against Woods Cross back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Farmington Phoenix fell 47-37 to the Woods Cross Wildcats. The match marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Phoenix players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. That's the most boards Rogers has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Breklyn Archibald, who posted five points and four steals.

Adia Cook had an outrageously good game for Woods Cross as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Grace MacArthur was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Farmington and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Woods Cross, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Farmington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-29 win against Taylorsville on the 11th. As for Woods Cross, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-53 defeat against Brighton on the 10th.
