Cranston East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Davies Career & Tech, who was ranked 18th at the time (Cranston East was ranked 14th). The Thunderbolts came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-3 on Friday.

Lexi Montalban spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Fatorma, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Central Falls made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hope on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Blue Wave with a sharp 15-3 victory. Considering the Warriors have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chaelys Brito Acevedo and LC Collins did most of the damage at the plate: Brito Acevedo fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2, while Collins went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most home runs Brito Acevedo has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Nayiah Levy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Central Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Central Falls' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Cranston East, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Central Falls' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Cranston East has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game.
