Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Prestonsburg's tournament run continued when they took on Holy Cross on Saturday. The Blackcats walked away with a 6-3 win over the Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blackcats.

Prestonsburg got a great performance from Blake Waller as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Waller also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Blackcats are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-19 otherwise.

At the plate, Barrett Hunter was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Prestonsburg pushed their record up to 10-20 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prestonsburg will welcome Pleasure Ridge Park at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holy Cross, they will face off against Cooper at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
