Pleasant Plains moved up to 161 from 190 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sangamo. A 41-0 win over New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly helped the Cardinals improve their standing.
Williamsville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Pawnee, 44-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Auburn's dynamic duo of Korben Clark and Austin Muench proved tough for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Clark threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns and Muench had 107 yards receiving. Wes Copelin helped Auburn's passing attack out by catching three balls for 66 yards.
Jak Loutzenhiser was the most productive running back in the league this week. In nine carries, he ran for 152 yards as Williamsville topped the Bluejays. Josh Lindsey also contributed to the rushing game with 106 yards on the ground.
Auburn's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Clark has thrown for 851 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Muench has 22 catches for 306 yards. Muench leads the league in rushing with 619 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on Pleasant Plains. At the moment, Pawnee is in sixth, while Coach Oller's team is in third.
Auburn was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to fifth in the league. Dave Bates's team vanquished PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central 41-15 earlier in the week.
