The Decatur Central Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Mooresville on the road by a decisive 63-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Decatur Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Mooresville is ranked 31st).
Mooresville was led to victory by Kalyn Bunch and Rachel Harshman. Bunch scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Harshman dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Harshman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Randee Garringer, who scored six points.
Decatur Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mooresville, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Decatur Central will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. Mooresville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenfield-Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th.
