2B Central recap Sept. 26, 2012
Wahkiakum moved up to 105 from 149 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2B Central. The Mules were able to make the jump by beating Pe Ell 27-18.
Napavine was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. The Tigers defeated Toutle Lake 20-6 earlier in the week.
Morton/White Pass's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rylon Kolb threw for 117 and two touchdowns and Gianni Bertucci had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Brian Reynolds chipped in 151 yards. Kalen Dunlap helped Morton/White Pass' passing attack out by catching two balls for 44 yards.
Morton/White Pass' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Timberwolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kolb has thrown for 362 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Bertucci has four catches for 149 yards. Reynolds leads the league in rushing with 431 yards.
A big matchup in 2B Central this week will be when the Timberwolves take on Napavine. At the moment, Morton/White Pass is in second, while Josh Fay's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Aaron Poquette's team and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Timberwolves comes in having scored 191 this season, while Napavine has scored 87. Morton/White Pass scored 55 points last week as it topped Onalaska.
Wahkiakum extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Trojans, 27-18. The win marks fourth in a row for the Eric Hansen's team.
