The North Davidson Black Knights entered their tilt with the Central Davidson Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North Davidson secured a 54-50 W over Central Davidson on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for North Davidson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
North Davidson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison McNair out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. McNair is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Bryton Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Central Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Trantham, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Garrison, who scored 11 points along with five assists and three steals.
North Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Central Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Davidson will challenge Montgomery Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Central will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Central Davidson, they will head out on the road to take on Ledford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ledford is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
