After a string of three wins, the Reese Rockets's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Caro. Reese was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Caro found their leader in underclassman Connor McGarry, who scored 25 points. McGarry continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidon Buniack, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Reese's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Caro, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reese will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. As for Caro, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Unionville-Sebewaing will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 647th, while the Tigers are ranked 287th).
