Even though the Calvert Hall Cardinals scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the City College Black Knights still came out on top. City College took their matchup against Calvert Hall 69-60. That's another feather in the cap for City College, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Calvert Hall still got an impressive performance from Brendan Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. Johnson scored a full 53.3% of Calvert Hall's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. JT Taggart was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
City College's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Calvert Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
City College's road trip will continue as they head out to face Patterson at 5:15 p.m. on January 9th. Patterson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 516 points over their last eight matchups. Calvert Hall and Overlea will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
