Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oswego). They enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over the Southern Coffey County Titans on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Oswego's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaycee Schulz, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Schulz has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Madison Foster was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Oswego was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Southern Coffey County still got an impressive performance from Karley Ohl, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. That was a full 67.5% of Southern Coffey County's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Oswego's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5. As for Southern Coffey County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Yates Center the next time they take the court. Oswego will head out to face Yates Center at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025, while Southern Coffey County will host them on January 14, 2025.
