Penfield is 2-8 against Victor since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Patriots will host the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Penfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Penfield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Fairport with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Penfield got a massive performance out of Stepanie Coughlin, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Mackenzie Whitehead was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Penfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Victor lost 14-6 to Bishop Kearney on Tuesday.
Delaney Pettee and Kendra Santillo did some serious damage despite the final result: Pettee went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Santillo went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Mackenzie Visingard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Penfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Victor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Penfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .460. However, it's not like Victor struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Penfield got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Victor by a conclusive 13-2 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
