The Simpson Academy Cougars are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Jackson Academy Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Simpson Academy beat Copiah Academy 66-56.
Meanwhile, Jackson Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Central Hinds Academy on the road to the tune of 81-21. Fans of Jackson Academy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mike Williams out in front who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. The game was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Goodloe, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Simpson Academy's win bumped their season record to 5-1 while Copiah Academy's loss dropped theirs to 1-6.
Simpson Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson Academy in their previous meeting back in February, winning 53-42. Does Simpson Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jackson Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
