Jace Hadley was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cole Sanders was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Owen Simkins was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Farmington was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Box Elder.
Farmington had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Mason Morley and Ty Runyan Morley pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Runyan struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs Morley has allowed since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Farmington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Westlund, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything went Fremont's way against Farmington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Fremont made off with a 16-6 win. Do the Silverwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Phoenix turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
